Your Privacy Rights
Your Privacy Rights Last updated April 5, 2026
At Modern Yogi, we believe privacy is a right — not a checkbox. This page explains what personal information we may collect and share, and how you can exercise your rights under Canadian privacy law.
Applicable law
As a Canadian company, Modern Yogi Limited is subject to Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) at the federal level. Where applicable — including for customers in Quebec — we also comply with Quebec’s Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25), which came into full force in September 2023 and establishes some of the strongest privacy protections in Canada.
What personal information we collect and why
When you visit our site or make a purchase, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, shipping address, and payment details. We also collect browsing and interaction data through cookies and tools such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. This data is used to process your orders, improve your shopping experience, and serve relevant advertising on other platforms.
For full details on what we collect and why, please see our Privacy Policy.
Your rights under PIPEDA
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how it is being used
- Access your personal information upon written request
- Correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Withdraw your consent to our collection or use of your personal information at any time, subject to legal or contractual limitations
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca if you believe your rights have been violated
Additional rights for Quebec residents (Law 25)
If you are a Quebec resident, you have additional rights beyond PIPEDA:
- Data portability — you may request that we provide your personal information in a structured, commonly used technological format so you can transfer it to another organization
- Right to de-indexation — you may ask us to cease disseminating your personal information or to de-index any hyperlinks associated with your name, where that information could cause you harm
- Automated decision-making — if we ever use your personal information for automated decision-making, you have the right to be informed and to request human review
- Consent must be granular and specific — we will always seek your separate consent for distinct purposes, and you may withdraw consent for any specific use without affecting others
How to withdraw consent for advertising and tracking
If you no longer want your browsing data shared with advertising platforms such as Meta or Google, you can:
- Update your cookie preferences using the consent tool on our site
- Clear your cookies and decline non-essential cookies when prompted on your next visit
- Opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at youradchoices.ca
Withdrawing consent for advertising cookies will not affect your ability to shop on our site or access your account.
Data breach notification
In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm to any individual, Modern Yogi Limited is legally required under PIPEDA to notify both the affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as soon as feasible. We take this obligation seriously and have internal procedures in place to detect and respond to such incidents promptly.
How to submit a privacy request
To exercise any of the rights described above — including accessing, correcting, or deleting your personal information — please contact our Privacy Officer in writing. We will acknowledge your request promptly and respond within 30 days, as required by law.
